The graffiti has been inspired from the urban surrounds within inner city living, such as London and Lyon. It has been inserted within this piece to contrast with the outer structural monochrome outer layer, to highlight the diversity within city living, and urban architecture. Artists such as VHILS have inspired the inner sections design, thought their abstract take on graffiti design.
Due to the magnificent Paula’s mathematics we were able to transform what was a small scale idea into a life-size aspirational sculptural piece. The initial trial has been made out of paper as it held the same qualities of the Vyline which will be the base for the piece.
These were the initial images which were inspirations for the the project. We looked into structural designs from a variety of designers suchs Hussein Chalayan, Daniel Widrig and Iris Van Harpen.
